*hugs shahzad* ’tis okay man. arsenal have a bright future, with or without theirry (i missed 3 sitters in the CL final ehehhehe) henry.
anyway, best team in europe won. you really have to be blind to deny that. they got rid of inform chelski and milan, while arsenal..with all due respect…disposed off of a dying madrid and a juve side that shouldn’t even have been in the quarters..and barely got past villareal. but that doesn’t matter because they had an inexperienced fairly young squad and tonnes of respect for that.
so first and foremost, to reiterate, tonnes of respect aimed at arsenal’s players and wenger for getting to the final. same must be said of barca, while they didn’t really outright demolish either chelsea or milan, they did grind out the results and they’ve done more than their fair bit of entertaining.
to the match. 2:43 something and henry has a chance to score AND HE MISSES! or rather, he hits it at valdez after nicking infront of marquez intelligently.
18th minute. lehmann being the nutjob german into bestiality that he is, decides to foul samuel etoo. giuly slides the ball into the net however. referee then pulls the game back to the lehmann foul and ‘RIGHTLY (in accordance with football rulings) sends off lehmann. que whining from the faggot andy gray about destroyign the spectacle. doesn’t FUCKING MATTER, it was a foul and hence a foul and hence a red card. Ask barcelona how they’d have felt. Frankly i would’ve taken the goal aswell but meh. And to every arsenal fan, please, don’t tell me it would’ve been easier playing against barca a goal down than with 10 men and 1-0 up. You would’ve had to commit men forward and the top 3 would’ve been picking your defense open at will. So lets move past that.
Kudos to arsenal, they told terje hauge to fuck off and courtesy of a freekick earned via an eboue dive got a goal via “i’mdepressed” sol campbell.
much MUCH respect to arsenal again for holding on to 1-0 till the first half despite a very very nervous closing 5-8 minutes with etoo brilliantly turning campbell and striking the post. had almunia not been alert and pushed it onto the post it could’ve been disastrous for the arse.
second half, bommel off iniesta on and i don’t know whose place larsson took because i was too busy gettign medicine for my father.
77th minute, etoo scores. hint of offside, i can’t be certain. doesn’t seem offside to me, but i have biased eyes. on the other hand, it wasn’t blatantly obvious and linesmen are told to give the advantage to the attackers – which they never do but seemed to today. balletti scored the second, thanks to brilliant work from larsson again.
now what i’ve ceremoniously left out are two chances for henry (i know he had 2 but i just remember one). he was clear in on goal and his decision to show low wasn’t the best one as valdez saved fairly comfortably. in other words, a player half the quality of henry would’ve tucked it away. it was also fairly early in the second half so fatigue shouldn’t/couldn’t have been as big a factor as some arsenal fans will try to imbue.
arsenal brought the loss upon themselves. lehmann’s stupidity, henry’s misses. you can blame the ref for the sending off, but it would’ve been tough 1-0 to barca with 11 men aswell. Maybe not as tough, but tough nonetheless. henry could’ve and should’ve won it. he didn’t.
the whinging about the ref will continue. no one will stop to say arsenal have a very bright future and they’ve got a stadium which even though has a horrible name (HAHAHA EMIRATES STADIUM *points and laughs*) will provide more revenue for wenger to spend. they’ve got really good young talent and they’ll maybe get another crack. no one will stop to say that they played their socks off in the final and gave more than a good account of arsenal FC. fuck the referee, shit happens. no one will be whinging about the arsenal goal from a freekick that should never have been.
we might’ve had a cracker had henry converted the chance in the second minute, but it wasn’t to be. and towards the end of the game, as martin tyler pointed out when ljungberg had the strike at goal, he didn’t even seemed to be bothered enough to get into a good position :S he wasn’t even in a real ‘cutback’ position. :S i don’t see as much of arsenal as arsenal fans, but doesn’t he tend to do that a fair bit at times?
anyway. lets all diverge the hate to the chelsea scum! down with mourinho who said he doesn’t want galacticos and then buys ballack and wants shevchenko too.
FAG.
man. united’s stuck with fletcher/alan smith/john o’shea in the middle of the park instead of fabregas, diarra, flamini.
there you go.
OLE BARCA! about fucking time too.
