listening to: Jens Lekman – When I Said I Wanted To Be Your Dog
i started watching this tv ‘drama/mystery/comedy’ series yesterday, called House. Its about this guy who runs the diagnostic medicine department in a teaching hospital. the beauty of the show is the well placed not-so-subtle dark humour and the well placed subtle irony of the various diagnoses (humor me) of the multitude of patients that are admitted with problems that cannot be figured out by other doctors.
anyway, its a great show, because there’s not a lot of pseudo ‘omg little girl dying boo hoo’ drama, since in essentiality its about mystery and how dr. house along with his staff goes about trying to figure out what the patient in question has.
at times it can gross one out, since there are multiple scenes of an explicit nature. there are a couple of scenes where they numb a guy’s eye and stick pins into in. :S
the theme song is done by massive attack and i kind of like it :
the shows based around house, an arrogant, supremely gifted bastard who cares more about the mystery than the patient (usually, there are some episodes with his humanitarian side thrown in).
quite a nice show, one of the best i’ve seen actually. can be a bit harsh with all the medical jargon thrown in at times tho.
i’ve got far too many interests, and i don’t want to prioritize because i have phases where one is at the forefront while the rest are temporarily put to sleep and what not. i don’t think i CAN prioritize infact. music, sports (football, pool/snooker, formula1, hockey), writing, reading, politics (to an extent), movies, tv (a show or two so to speak, e.g house/west wing/arrested development etc), video games!, cars, MUSIC.
okay, maybe they’re not THAT many :p but usually its always limited ot one or the other. if someone likes a lot of music and sports, they won’t be into literature or movies. something’s always compromised :S and worst of all, i don’t have a “lets just test the water” interest in either of those things :S
